CICOM class

My single strong impression on the CICOM class which started today was that I lack core ability, especially of discussing complicated issues in English, such as this: Strategy Planning. Yes I know I got educated in an English speaking school in my early childhood; and also that few years ago I could give some excellent presentations on my reseach works in quite a few technical conferences held in Mongolia, Sadogashima and so on. And I also know that after 5 years of my research work I moved to a business division in my company and lost contact with any English speaking communitiy apart from browsing web on the Internet. But today I was shocked about how much I've lost since my ability peak. There were 4 other members on this class; two of them with were non-Japanese, and two Japanese working for foreign-affiliated firms (seemed to have had some experince in States). They were running ahead of me in every discussion; I'm not happy about my achivement to the class today. I definitely need training for recovery. Simple English speaking class will not suffice altough it might be a starting point; what is required is logical thinking along with high communication ability, and the language is only an means to help express it. What I have to make clear is which is the key factor for my unsuccessful class achievement today: English fluency or core skill. Surely both of them must be fortified. My plan from now on is to choose and make analysis for at least one event everyday, make a short note and post it here. Fermi estimation for example. Commenting on news topics is another. Good luck to me.
